A week-end to hike in Queenstown, NZ

sunny 25 °C

If you had to visit only one place in New Zealand (that's not ideal but let's assume), it would be Queenstown. It's on the edge of Lake Whakatipu, surrounded by mountain ranges that will leave you literally speechless.

If you love hiking, I suggest you to head to Wanaka, there's a few of hikes you want to get on.

Other than that, the Ben Lomond Track is one of the most popular hikes for a good reason: it features a breathtaking 360 view (it's the best reward you can get after a 7 hour hike (roundtrip). Pack a good lunch (a good sandwich with protein bars) and plenty of water. The hike is not that hard but some parts can be tiring if you're not sporty.

If this is too much for you, you should check the Frankton Arm walkway. It's pretty flat and I suggest you to rent a bike if it's not too windy.
